PrintMattie Sue Cawthon Gillespie, age 82, passed away January 22, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. She was a native of Cannon Co.
She is survived by her son, Chester "Huck" (Vicky) Gillespie, Jr. of Eugene, OR; Grandson, Jason Gillespie; Brother, Ray Dave (Billie) Cawthon; and Sister, Doris Lynch of Houston, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse P. & Florance Knox Cawthon; and Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Ruth & Joe Paschal, Jewel & Joe Gillespie, & Claude Lynch.
Ms. Gillespie was a member of the church of Christ and worked in the TV Broadcasting industry.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Fri., Jan. 30, 2015 at Thyatira Cemetery with Bro. Howard Knox, Jr. officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 1:30 PM Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
