Graveside services for Mrs. Jill Powell Nichols, 54, were held Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Warren County with Bro. Bobby Nichols officiating. Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Nichols died Sunday, July 12 at her home after a short illness. A native of McMinnville, she resided in Morrison. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Methodist Church, and the daughter of the late Bratten “Short Leg” and Anne Sparkman Powell. Survivors include her husband, Roger Nichols of Morrison; three sisters, Jan Powell and Jackie Powell, both of Woodbury and Joy Powell Evans of McMinnville; three nieces, Sarah Rogers, Julie LaForte and Jennifer Evans; a great niece, Hallie LaForte; mother-in-law, Lucille Nichols of Morrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses or to the American Cancer Society.
