TBI investigates death of Floyd Young

At the request of 16th District Attorney General Jennings Jones, TBI Special Agents are investigating the circumstances surrounding the homicide of a man identified as Carl Allen "Floyd" Young, said Josh DeVine, TBI Public Information Officer

Preliminary information indicates the incident began as some sort of dispute Sunday evening in the 200 block of Gunter Hollow Road. Autopsy results are pending. At this time, there have been no charges filed in connection to this incident, DeVine said.

A native of DeKalb County, Young is survived by his son, Matthew Allan Young and his mother, Shelly Matthews, both of Woodbury; father, Jeffery Young of Woodbury; mother, Dorene Estes Pedigo of Smithville; brothers, Toby Young and Chad (Angel) Young of Woodbury; grandmother, Joy Young of Woodbury; uncles, Darrell (Rachel) Young and Rodney (Angela) Young all of Woodbury; and nephews, Jacob, Griffin and Easton Young.

Young was a heavy equipment operator.
