Jan 19, 2016 at 01:59 pm by admin

Cannon Arts Dance Recital Starry, Starry, Night rescheduled for Saturday, Jan 30th , 2 pm, Park Theater, Mcminnville. All tickets purchased for Jan 23rd will be honored.

Watch local stars shine in Cannon Arts Dance Studio's 2016 recital, "Starry, Starry Night."

Vincent Van Gogh's immortal painting of the same name is among one of the many classic works of art that have inspired the recital dances this year.

Other famous paintings such as Grant Wood's American Gothic, da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Degas' The Rehearsal , serve as inspiration to the 75 dancers in the production.

"This theme is one of our most beautiful and sophisticated yet," said studio owner Lori Christensen, better known as Ms. California.

Each painting will be displayed in the theater, as the dances are performed on stage whether they be ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary or clogging. Other features of the show will include the studio's first pointe (toe shoe) number, studio narrators and an art show in the lobby headed up by Highland Rim artist Carol Neal.

This year the venue of the recital has changed to the newly renovated Park Theater, 115 W Main St. in McMinnville.

Tickets are available online at tututix.com/cannonartsdance, with a select few possibly available at the door.
