Tickets for Cannon County's Region 4-AA opener against Sequatchie County will be sold at the door Friday night. No tickets will be pre-sold. Doors at Robert A. Harris Gymnasium will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. tipoff. All tickets are $5 and no passes will be accepted.

The committee to study the feasibility for a county Middle School met with parents and educators of the Auburntown Elementary School in the school’s gym Tuesday night. The left side of the gym was standing room only. Many of the visitors got chairs and put them in the corner of the gym floor to listen the comments from the audience and the committee.

SPARTA - Matt Rigsby should not have a difficult time getting his team focused for the Region 4-AA opener at Chattanooga Notre Dame Saturday. At the least, Rigsby should not have to worry about his Lions dwelling on the past after giving up the highest point total of the season in an 86-69 loss to Livingston Academy in the consolation game of the District 8-AA Tournament at White County High School Tuesday.
There are a lot misplaced animals in our community; however, because of a permanent identification personal microchip a lost dog and her family were reunited yesterday (Monday).

SPARTA - It was a tale of two halves for Cannon County in its showdown against perennial power Livingston Academy in the championship of the District 8-AA Tournament here Monday. The Lionettes stormed out to a 14-point halftime lead and led by as many as 15 in the opening half before succumbing to the Lady Wildcats, 55-52, in an action-packed title game at White County's Sewell Gymnasium.
