Exit Exams are officially waived* for students on track to graduate Motlow State Community College in Spring 2020.

Why the Decision was Made

Motlow voted unanimously to waive the Spring 2020 exit exam schedule. We believe this decision is in the best interest of the success of our students at this time.

Important Context: State funding is tied to exit exam outcomes. Motlow had the option to 1) hold exit exams online or, 2) use the prior year's exit exam data. Motlow will rely on prior-year data.

Please Share with Your Family and Friends

Please take a moment and share with your circle of influence that Motlow was able to readily make this decision because it has a demonstrated pattern of high performance. Last year, TBR named Motlow the #1 Top Performing College in Tennessee. An unwavering focus on student success drives all we do at Motlow. Our past proven achievements in this mission now empower the current decision to waive exams.

It is this pattern of success that will see us through this challenging time together.

*Note: The only students affected by this message are students eligible for graduation upon completion of the May 2020 semester. The ETS college exit exam is not the same thing as individual class finals. The ETS Proficiency Profile is the exam that all graduates take prior to commencement. Only the ETS proficiency profile hosted by the college is waived.

All class finals that all students take at the end of each semester will continue as scheduled by each course instructor.

Any program/major, division, or industry exams that certify, qualify, or license students for specific programs such as business, mechatronics, nursing, etc. will also continue as scheduled.
