Memphis, TN – Cannon County has reason to celebrate again.

Keep Tennessee Beautiful (KTnB) once again achieved 100-percent participation from all 95 counties during the 2012 Great American Cleanup (GAC) thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers.

This marked the sixth year in a row KTnB and its local organizers have accomplished this feat.

"Our national impact is only achieved through local community engagement that rallies individuals to make their communities cleaner, greener and more livable," said Keep America Beautiful President and CEO Matthew M. McKenna. "Keep America Beautiful salutes our state and local affiliates in Tennessee for achieving an incredible 100% participation in the Great American Cleanup for six consecutive years."

Cannon County, led by Diane Hickman, planted 100 trees. Two volunteers contributed 20 hours, helping Hickman achieve these totals.

The National Sponsors of the 2012 GAC are: The Dow Chemical Company; The Glad Products Company; LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc.; Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water; PepsiCo's Pepsi-Cola and Gatorade companies; Solo Cup Company; Troy-Bilt® Lawn and Garden Equipment; Waste Management; and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. Educational Partners are: Rubber Manufacturers Association and WM Recycle America.
