Henry C. Hickey

Services for Henry C. Hickey, 79, of Gassaway, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Hill Cemetery.

Visititation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 and Tuesday until time of services at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Born at Silver Point in Putnam County, Mr. Hickey is survived by his wife, Georgia M. Ortman Hickey of Gassaway; daugther and son in law, Karen and Steve Higgins of Woodbury; a son, Johnny L. Hickey of Gassaway; grandchildren, Clint and Brandi Higgins and Devon L. Hickey; two great-grandchildren, Kole and Kennedi Higgins; siblings, Dorothy (George) Allen of Algood, Arthur (Buna) Hickey of Cookeville, Clara Fox of Gainsboro, Alberta Garwood of Murfreesboro, Sammy (Thelma) Hickey of Smithville, Donnie (Betty) Hickey of Smithville, Annie (Jessie) Flatt of Baxter and Joyce Bird of West Jefferson, OH. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Alma Carter Hickey and four siblings, Charlie Hickey, Johnnie Hickey, Irma Johnson and Geneva Garwood.

Mr. Hickey retired from Carrier Corp. and was a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. He loved farming and working his mules.
