William Noel "Nick" Nichols

Mr. William Noel "Nick" Nichols, Jr., 86, of Woodbury died Dec. 30, 2010. He was born April 24, 1924 in Cannon County. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Noel Nichols, Sr. and Mattie (Webb) Nichols. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Wilma Ione (Gannon) Nichols and recently by his brother, Joe Y. Nichols.

Survivors include two step daughters, Wanda & Charles Ray Roberts and Margaret & Jesse Pate both of Woodbury; sister-in-law, Juanita (Brandon) Nichols of Woodbury; nieces, Cynthia & Charles Bowman of Bradyville and Susan & Darrell Turney of Woodbury; four step-grandchildren, Chris & Carol Barton of Centertown, Lori (Barton) & Michael Boroday of Quantico, VA, Rachel Pate and Hannah Pate; also five step-great grandchildren.

Mr. Nichols was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ. Graduating Central High School in the class of 194. Following graduation he served in the Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was also a graduate of MTSU. In years past he had also been elected to the Woodbury Board of Aldermen and was retired from the State of Tennessee in the Planning Department.

Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 from 11 AM-3 PM. Graveside services will be held at the Wiley Cemetery on Saturday following the visitation.
