Sammye M. Tenpenny

Ms. Sammye Milligan Tenpenny, age 94, passed away on March 10, 2010 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Stones officiating. Interment will follow in the Leoni Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 12, from 4 pm till 8 pm.

She is survived by her children, Jo Ellen (Terry) Davenport of Smyrna, Josh (Barbara) Tenpenny of Winchester, Katherine McDowell of Nashville, Maxine (Bobby) Bates of Centertown; Siblings, Marjorie Lorance of Charlotte, NC., Quixie Carroll of Manchester, Jack Milligan of McMinnville, Shirley Tate of Merritt Island, FL., Betty Billings of McMinnville, Helon Gentry of Woodbury, Jimmy Milligan of Coco Beach, FL. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Powell Milligan & Nannie Vandygrift Milligan, her husband, Virgil Tenpenny and siblings, Rachel Hillstrom, Brown & Billy Milligan.

A member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, she was a Retired School Teacher.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Adams Memorial Library Building Fund.
