Funeral services for Ruthie Lee Hale Barrett, 87, will be held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Maurice Moore and Bro. Tim Fergerson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Gardens with Woodbury Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Barrett died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Stones River Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Cannon County, she resided in Woodbury. She was a member of New Short Mountain Methodist Church, a retired school teacher and store owner and a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hester Melton Hale; her husband, George G. Barrett; her son, Timothy Lee Barrett; her brothers, Ray, Shelah, Paul and James Thomas Hale and a sister, Dorothy McDougal.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Barber of Ringgold, GA; granddaughter, Ginger Barrett Donahoo (Trace) of Moody, AL; two great grandchildren, Cullen and Ansley Donahoo of Moody, AL; daughter-in-law, Tammy McAbee of Woodbury; two sisters, Maxine Nokes and Marie Garrett, both of Half Acre community; a brother, Billy Hale of Sterling Heights, MI; and special nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Jimmy Hale, Johnny McDougal, Skylar Daniel, Harry Hale, Jeff Nokes and Tim Howell.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Hale, Gerry Nokes, Nick Nokes, James Hale, Gerald Motley, Craig Hale, Bill Nokes, Randy McDougal, Dane Hale, Matthew Daniel, Wayne Wood, Andy Gay, Jeff Keaton, Douglas Griffith, Scott Hale, Wesley Nokes and David Markum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Short Mountain Methodist Church.
