Rachel E. Wallace, 89, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Life Care Center of Sparta following an extended illness.

A native of Cannon County, she was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ and a retired nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and Stones River Hospital.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan Gaither and Lester Hollis Gaither, and her husband, Ed Wallace.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Wallace of Phoenix, AZ; son, Jerry (Janan) Wallace of Sparta; sister, Mary G. (Garland) King of Nashville; two grandchildren, Diana (Bryan) Dodd of Ft. Leavenworth, KS and Kendra Wallace of Nashville; two great grandchildren, Dayven Dodd and Aeslynn Grace Dodd and two nephews, Garland King, Jr. and Gaither King.
