Ms. Nola Alexander Turney age 90, of Readyville, passed away on May 15, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

A native of Cannon Co., she was the first child of Oscar B. Alexander and Mettie Bell Alexander. She graduated from Auburn High School and MTSU. She started her teaching career in 1938 and retired in 1981 after 43 years. She cherished and loved the young people of Wilson and Cannon Co who she was privileged to teach. She loved being a part of their lives and sharing in their hopes and dreams. She and her late husband, Clark Turney always supported Cannon Co., thru church, education and politics. Ms. Nola loved her flowers and attending horse shows with her family.

She was a member of the Woodbury First Baptist Church, the T.E.A. and the Retired Teacher’s Assoc.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Alexander Paschal and her sister-in-law, Helen West Alexander. Also survived by many friends and neighbors whom she loved as family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Clark she was preceded in death by her brother, Milton Alexander & brother-in-law, Donald Paschal.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday May 18 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Bray officiating. Internment will follow at Riverside Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 t0 8 PM Monday.
