Have you been to the newly expanded Dr. and Mrs. J.F. Adams Memorial Library in Woodbury?

No? Well here's your big chance.

The Library will celebrate its grand reopening at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17. A brief program is planned and an open house will follow with refreshments served in the Jennings Community Room on the lower level of the expanded building.

What will you see?

First, there's the new entrance at what once was considered the back of the building. Add to that the new parking lot that will eliminate parking on College Street.

Inside the building there's the new checkout desk that's adjacent to the busy computer area that's loaded with up-to-date computers with internet access.

Don't forget the new area especially for teens with comfortable chairs and a window on College Street.

And there's the even larger children's area with custom-made cushions furnished by Woodbury's Crane Interiors. Library volunteers have been busy all week putting on the finishing touches.

Did we mention the places to read, study and to research? Those spaces run from traditional library tables to comfy couches and overstuffed chairs.

Speaking of research, check out the new, expanded genealogy section complete with portraits of Dr. and Mrs. Adams. And there's many different ways of searching for your family trees there ranging from books to microfilm.

Check it out and join the 5,424 registered library patrons who visited the library 49,416 times in 2012.

The Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Adams Memorial Library often has the highest per capita circulation in the middle Tennessee area with the expansion, you can expect those figures to grow.

And don't forget the basement level community room that is being returned to its original use. It's available for family gatherings, club meetings at a fee that's less that the cost of heating and cooling it.

Check it out.
