Mr. Alfred (Boss) Blair

Mr. Alfred (Boss) Blair age 86 of the Ivy Bluff Community died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at N.H.C. Health Care Center in McMinnville, TN.

He was born on January 22, 1924, in Cannon County, TN, was a farmer, retired employee of Carrier, retired employee of the Warren County School System, a member of McMinnville Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as greeter and deacon for 32 years, and a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Blair was preceded in death by parents Wash and Ada Manus Blair, his sisters Dovie Gunter, Myrtle Webb, and Ora Aschbacher, and brothers Virgil, Floyd, John, Clyde, and Hethron (Bud) Blair.

Survivors include his wife Estelle Duncan Blair, son Walter and Roxann Blair of McMinnville, TN, daughters Peggy and Mike Woods and Carol Crouch both of McMinnville, TN, step-daughters Phyllis and Don Smith of Woodbury, TN, and Rita and Gerald Malone of Liberty, TN, step-sons Ken and Pam Laws of Columbia, TN, Richard and Kathy Laws of Woodbury, TN, and Clancy Wright of Smithville, TN, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dennis Clark and Pastor Harley Roth will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

The Blair Family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again on Saturday from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
