Joe E. Owen

Services for Joe E. Owen, 82, died Friday, February 23, 2013 at the home of his daughter. A native of Cannon County, he resided in Alabama. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie A. and Daisy Patterson Owen; his wife, Mattie D. Haley Owen; siblings, Norman, Ralph, Ravon, James, Doyal and Loyal Owen, Weeda Gunter, Margaret Alexander and Jean Hoskins.

A member of the United Methodist Church, he was a veteran of the US Navy and worked in Maintenance at Murfreesboro Housing Authority.

Survivors include his children,  Pamela J. (Gordon) Bigelow of Harvest, AL. and Ricky Owen of Murfreesboro; grandchildren,  Jamie Powers of Tampa, FL., Bill Powers and Michelle Pittman both of Harvest, AL., Kristen Owen of Smyrna; great grandchildren, Justus Powers, Nate Powers, Lexi Quo and  Lilly Owen.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with burial in Sycamore Cemetery.

Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
