Evalena Brazzell Muncy, age 93 of Woodbury, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011.

Ms. Muncy was the oldest living member (1935 – 2011) of the Leoni Church of Christ.  She was the daughter of a gospel preacher and the wife of an Elder and a school teacher.  She had a love for cooking and her cupboards were never empty. She never denied anyone a meal and provided meals for the sick.   She fed many soldiers that were on maneuvers in Cannon Co. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years, made many quilts and woke every morning singing.

A native of Sumner County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Florence Vaden Brazzell; husband, Kenneth Muncy and seven siblings.

Survivors:

Brother: James M. Brazzell of Nashville                                                             

Children: Billy (Joyce) Muncy, Jacky Muncy, Katie (Charles) Smith and Becky (Mark) Hayes all of Woodbury                      

 Grandchildren: Levoit Muncy, Tina Pendergrast, Monica (Barry) Jones, Sherry (Erik) Simpson, Shelia (Brian) Kelly, Timothy (Betty) Muncy, Angela Wiggins, Gail (Charles) Markum, Cindy (Mark) Barker, Kevin (Beth) Smith, Kerry (Jenny) Smith, Kory Smith, Olivia (Jared) Young and Daniel (Erin) Hayes

Also surviving are 23 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Leoni Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 with Bro. Daniel Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Leoni Cemetery

Visitation is from 5–9 pm Thursday, Nov. 3 and Friday from 2–3 p.m. at Leoni Church of Christ.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
