Elmer J. Freeze, 90, died Friday, February 21, 2013 at Stones River Hospital. A native of Cannon County, he was a member of Smith Grove Church of Christ and the owner of Freeze Electric, a Cannon County Sheriff’s Depty, assistant Police Chief, Captain of Cannon County Rescue Squad and Mooretown Fire Department. He also worked at Woodbury Funeral Home as a police escort helping people across the street.

Mr. Freeze was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bessie Moore Freeze and his wife, Annie Mae Rogers Freeze.

Survivors include three sons, W.J. Freeze of Murfreesboro, Kirby and Louise Freeze of McMinnville and Roy and Tammy Freeze of Woodbury; grandchildren, Johnny Freeze, Jody Lane, Melody Hyder, Kimberly Cantrell, Chris, Michael and Wendy Freeze, Amanda and Joshua Curtis; great grandchildren, Kristlynn and Hope Lane, Arrie Elizabeth, Will and Katherine Hyder, Lee and Lilly Mae Cantrell, Ashton Witty, Faith and Alissa Kilgore, Jailynn and Tyler Meeks.

Funeral services were Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Burial was in Cherry Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Cannon Co. Rescue Squad and the Mooretown Fire Dept.
