WPD Closing Kimela Drive Friday Night

Woodbury Chief of Police Tony Burnett has announced that Kimela Drive will be closed to traffic Friday night, May 27.

Chief Burnett said that action was necessary to maintain an orderly flow of traffic before and after graduation exercises at Cannon County High School.

Also on Friday, the Woodbury Police Department and the Cannon County Sheriff’s Dept. will be conducting safety and sobriety checkpoints.

Checkpoints will be held on Highway 70 and Highway 53 in Woodbury and Cannon County.

These checkpoints will be in conjunction with the Governor’s Highway Safety Office “Click It or Ticket campaign”.

Officers in both departments will be paid with funds provided by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.

The Woodbury Police Department and the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department will strive to make the highways safe for it’s citizens throughout the holiday weekend.
