The Woodbury Police Department recently arrested three people with sealed indictments for bringing and delivering pills to the Town of Woodbury.

The department became aware of these people in September of 2010 and then began attempts to get them arrested.

Jennie N. Rawls was arrested on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at her home on Laurel Ct. in Rutherford County by Chief Tony Burnett and Officer John Fessmire, accompanied by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Dept. and Agent Anthony Davis with the Office of Inspector General.

Rawls, age 20, is charged with sale of a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to keep use or sell drugs. She was placed on $20,000 bond with an arraignment day of Friday, February 11, 2011.

Johnny Hix, age 54, was also arrested Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his residence on Buckeye Bottom Rd. in Rutherford County and charged with sale of a controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to keep, use or sell drugs. He was placed on $15,000 bond with a hearing scheduled for Friday.

Cynthia Hix, age 51, also of Buckeye Bottom Rd. in Rutherford County, was arrested and charged with sale of a controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to keep, use or sell drugs. Ms. Hix turned herself in to the Woodbury Police Dept. on Wednesday. Her bond was also $15,000.00 with a hearing this Friday in Circuit Court here in Cannon County.

"I am very proud of this department and their hard work in these cases. We still have a lot of work to do and we plan to continue the war on drugs. Almost all of the officers in this department were involved in this case and I am very proud of them. We have always and will continue to fight the drug problem in the Town of Woodbury," Woodbury Police Chief Tony Burnett said.

Burnett also expressed his appreciation for OIG Agent Anthony Davis and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Dept. for their assistance in arresting these three subjects.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt. It simply means that the Grand Jury determined there was enough evidence to move the case forward to trial.
