Woman Killed In Accident On McMinnville Hwy.

A McMinnville woman was killed in a two-car accident early Monday afternoon on McMinnville Highway.

Nancy C. Lazzara, a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, Melvin L. Lazzara, died at the scene of the accident, according to Tennessee Highway Patrolman Bruce Pryor.

According to Trooper Pryor, a Chevy Tahoe being driven by Gina McCutcheon of Woodbury was traveling east on McMinnville Highway when McCutcheon lost control of the the vehicle.

Just past the Leoni Church of Christ, McCutcheon's vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a Jeep Cherokee being driven by Melvin Lazzara. The Tahoe struck the Jeep on the passenger side, went airborne and came to a rest.

Melvin Lazzara and McCutcheon were transported by ambulance to the Warren County Memorial Airport and then transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Hospital in critical but stable condition. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending against McCutcheon, Trooper Pryor said.
