On August 11, 2009 Summer Williams age 18 of Woodbury, TN was cited for vandalism by Sgt. Kevin Mooneyham after an investigation into vandalism at Brown Spurlock Park. Williams had written on the pavilion and inside the ladies bathroom stall at the park with a magic marker and sidewalk chalk.

The writing was very vulgar and very offensive. Williams has a court date of Tuesday Sept 8th 2009.

We like our parks and do all we can to keep them free of vandals and loitering. The park also has cameras which we feel is a great deterrent to most people who intend on vandalizing.

Several people have been caught over the past years thanks to those who care about the park and the camera system. Most of them have been adults over the age of 18.

If you see suspicious activities at the park please feel free to contact the Police Department. Also remember that it may not always be young people who commit these crimes.

Also assisting in the investigation was Officer Lowell Womack. I appreciate the quick action taken by these officers.
