Recently, Dave White, Chief of the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service visited the local NRCS in Woodbury.

While in Woodbury, Chief White visited with the Cannon County Soil Conservation District Board Members and Raymond Cooper, renowned grazing authority.  This is the first time that a Chief from Washington DC has visited the Woodbury Office.

Chief White and the Cannon SCD discussed conservation successes and needs of the local area.  Chief White toured the Raymond Cooper farm and listened to Mr. Cooper’s unique, low input approach to grazing cattle.

At the Chief’s request, District Conservationist, Pamela Hoskins will travel to Washington DC to share with agency leaders the story of the Cannon SCD’s work with Raymond Cooper.

Members of the Cannon County SCD are David George, Joe Young, Russell Vance, Martin Daniel and Mark Barker.
