Two Arrested On Theft Charges

A Woodbury man and a woman from Alexandria were arrested recently on theft charges.

Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Smith responded to 5455 Sycamore Creek Road on May 27 following a report of a car being broken into. Complainant Lynn Denise Adams told Deputy Smith someone broke into her Toyota 4Runner by jimmying the door lock. She said a wallet, check book, debit cards, cash and camera were stolen.

Following an investigation, Cory Allen Chapman, 2461 Sycamore Creek Rd., Woodbury, and Candice Brook Vickers, 102 Laverne St., Alexandria, were identified as suspects.

Chapman was charged on June 1 with burglary of a motor vehicle and theft over $500. Bond was set at $30,000. Initial court date is July 12. Vickers is charged with theft over $500 and is also scheduled to appear on court July 12.

Once in custody, Chapman was also served with outstanding warrants from an incident which allegedly occurred in January. He is charged with entering Adams’ home and stealing a 32-inch RCA television valued at $400. The TV was pawned at Kwik Cash Pawn Shop.  Former CCSD Detective Matt Goney was the initial investigator.

Chapman is charged with aggravated burglary and theft under $400 from the January incident. Total bond is $4,000. Initial court date is June 28. He is also facing a violation of probaion charge.
