All those who ordered a Treasured Recipes and Recollections Cookbook from the Auburntown Historical Society's second printing must pick them up at the Auburntown Church of Christ fellowship hall beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009. The program featuring Dr. Calvin Dickinson speaking about his Civil War new book, Sister States, Enemy States, begins at 7 p.m.

"Everyone is invited to this program," said Danny Nichols, President of the Society. "We would be pleased to include as our guests those who purchased the cookbook."

Nichols said the Society has now printed 225 of the popular cookbook, all of which are sold.

"We have had so much response, and the orders continue to pour in due to promotion on our Web site and help from our local and regional media," Nichols observed.

Anyone who did not get a book during the first and second printing should follow the instructions on the Society's Web site.

"We appreciate the overwhelming response to this project," Nichols said. "Money raised from the sell of this book will be seed money for our comprehensive history of Auburntown we expect to publish in the next couple of years."
