I hope that all of you had a wonderful celebration with family and friends. Independence Day is a special day of the year that we all should appreciate and honor.

The Smithville Jamboree is always a must for me and friends to attend. The musical talents of those of all ages is fantastic. The dancing is terrific. Viewing all the new craftspeople and tasting the yummy country foods is my favorite.
I remember a youngster purchased a huge turkey leg for his lunch. That turkey leg was so big that the child was walking sideways trying to eat it! Where are they growing these turkeys? They make these non-alcoholic pina coladas served in real coconut shells. You get free refills after the initial cost of one.

Ok, next event to watch for is the The Short Mountain Trading Post Family Flea Market Fest on August 2nd, Saturday 10 to 5. Once again, if you have some neat things to sell or craft items, baked goods, fresh produce and eggs, antiques, furniture, tools, clothes, purses, shoes, dolls, books....you name it....BRING IT!!

Call me, Savannah at 615-464-7824 and reserve your FREE space. So far, we have all had a blast at the last two we had....so, come on out and enjoy the market, the crafts, live music, food and the tour of the barn.

The Short Mountain Distillery will also be open offering FREE TOURS, moonshine samples and lots of fun historical tales of back in the day shine production up to modern day at the Distillery. You may even get to greet and meet the honorable Billy Kaufman, leader of of the pack!!

Hey, I do want to mention the huge - three- day event coming up at the Distillery on August 29th thru the 31st. It's called the Short Mountain Disc Jam and Music Festival!! Tons of music groups will be playing and let the disc golf begin !! For ticket information : WWW.Flyincolorsdiscgolf.com. Sounds like a terrific time!! Of course the Short Mountain Trading Post will be open as always Thursday through Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM. So c'mon out and have a great time!

Well, maybe I am out of breath at this point, but I do want you Folks to remember to take care of each other, always smile, keep that sense of humor and watch for The Chat next week!!
