Town Speeder Stopped; Drugs Found

Jessie Harold Vinson III, 2399 Murray Kittrell Road, Readyville, was charged with DUI 1st Offense, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of the Implied Consent Law on Oct. 15 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire.

Vinson was observed by two officers as he allegedly speed through town on two occasions within minutes of each other at around 2 a.m.

Prior to stopping him, officers observed Vinson's vehicle crossing lane markings. Field sobriety tests indicated intoxication. Inside his vehicle a partial pain patch and a marijuana patch containing marijuana was found. Initial court date is Nov. 15.

• Bennie Ted Evans, 2708 Porterfield Road, Readyville, was charged with Violation of an Order of Protection on Oct. 15 by Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham.

While the purported victim had stopped at First Stop Market to get gas, Evans allegedly went to the Cannon County Arts Center in his vehicle, turned around and parked at the Dollar Market to watch the victim, and when the victim left First Stop, he got behind her and followed her at speeds up to 80 mph on John Bragg Highway in an effort to harass, annoy or otherwise put the victim in fear of bodily injury and/or harm. Bond was set at $5,000. Initial court date is Nov. 8.

• Jimmy Douglas Davis, 1027 Manustown Road, Woodbury, was charged with Theft Over $1,000 on October 15 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Gullett. Davis allegedly had control over a green Polaris Ranger.

This vehicle was reportedly stolen from 355 Bains Hollow Road in Auburntown on December 12, 2010 and was recovered on October 14, 2011 at 860 Knight Road in Warren County.

The resident of that address said he purchased the vehicle for $1,300 in Cannon County. He was able to pick out of a lineup Davis as the seller. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is Nov. 1.

• Dominque Boyd was was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on Oct. 17 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Moss.

Deputy Moss was patrolling on McMinnville Highway when he observed a truck and trailer in front of him cross over the yellow line, nearly striking an oncoming ambulance that was running emergency traffic. The deputy stopped the vehicle for failure to maintain lane of traffic. Boyd was issued a release citation. Initial court date is Dec. 6.
