He made his entrance into this world at 25+ weeks but he came in screaming! Tristan Micah Lee Workman was born Tuesday the 27th weighing a hefty 1 lb 13 oz and being 13¼" in length. Although he is in NICU at Vanderbilt, proud sister, Kristen, brother, Brodie and extra proud parents Amanda and Thomas are so thankful he is doing well and thanks each of you for your prayers.

Frank Patrick has spent a few days in the hospital getting some more blood to make him feel better.

Basketball season has begun. The Auburn Knights hosted the Westside Eagles Monday night. The Lady Knights took command of their game with the Westside Eagles doing the same during the boys' game. Be sure to support these young athletes which also include our cheering squad.

Speaking of basketball season - for several years I kept books beside of a young woman at all Woodbury Cub games as well as tournaments. We always had a good time. Our thoughts and prayers are for the loved ones of Camia Tate Hayes who passed away last week following a sudden illness.

Roger Turney Gym is the place to be this Friday night at 6 p.m. It's the Harvest Festival with the King and Queen Coronation kicking it off. The gym is beautifully decorated for this event. Afterwards the decorations come down and the fun begins with a silent auction, cake walks and more. The concession stand will be open at this time so enjoy some good eats.

Percy Warner Trail Park was a busy place Sunday the 25th with Cannon Co. Middle school and elementary girls and boys cross country teams. Kiley Hughes and Keilee Campbell are members of the girls' team with Lily Hughes and Baleigh Campbell members of the elementary level.

The High School team were in Macon County Tuesday. Both boys and girls tems placed 1st out of 8 teams. YAY! And no surprise - Hannah Whited finished in her usual place which is 1st. Austin Duggin is coming on placing 5th in the boys' race. Seven runners medaled with 8 running their personal best. Way to go!!

October 29th is fast approaching. That's the day for the Russell Fults' Running 1 4 U Benefit. If you haven't signed up, do so between October 9-29 for a $5.24 discount. Want a shirt? Order on or before the 15th.

Brennan Reed enters his teens on the 5th. Several have their special day on the 6th. Topping the list is son, Ray Patrick who hits 51 (I was a child bride!!). He shares the day with cousin Natalie Burkhead, Tim Cooper, Barry Gaither, Wilma Harris, and McKenzie Melton Bennett. The 9th has another big list which shows Donna Gaither Nichols, Jody Dickey, Ruby Reed Anderson, Debbie Whited, Rachel Hale and Madison Gaither celebrating. Cole Turney's is the 10th with twins Derrick and Eric Hughes celebrating the 11th. Finishing up the week on the 12th are Cliff Burkhead, Charles Patterson and Robert Fletcher. Happy birthday to each and every one of you.
