Timothy Grandey, 63, died on June 06, 2021 in Woodbury, Tennessee. Tim was born in McMinnville to Philip and Willodene Tuck Grandey on July 23, 1957. Tim spent his early childhood in McMinnville before moving to Florida with his family. He graduated from Vero Beach High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. He also earned a master's degree at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. His education enabled him to teach American History courses at Motlow State Community College for 33 years. He also taught history and government courses at Cannon County High School and LaVergne High School.

Tim was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed singing in the church and would often attend singings at congregations throughout the region. Tim was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was good-hearted and it was easy to get him to laugh. He enjoyed visiting historic places, spending time with family and friends, and playing Rook and Chinese Checkers. He loved many people dearly and many people loved him. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Savannah Grandey Knies and her husband Caleb, grandson Smith Edward Knies, and siblings Ted Grandey, Phyllis Manual, Mona Krantz, and Jane Pierce.

Tim will be missed tremendously. A memorial service will be held at Arlington Church of Christ in McMinnville, Tennessee, on Saturday, June 12 at 2:00 pm. Tim Knox will officiate. Donations in Tim's memory may be made to the Tim Grandey Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cannon County High School.
