TBI moves suspect to Top Ten

Wendell Lee Washam

 The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today put a man wanted on child rape charges out of Williamson County on the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list in an effort to locate him and take him into custody.

 Wendell Lee Washam, 82, last known address 1100 Pleasant Hill, Platte City, Missouri is wanted by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office for failure to report for trial, two counts of rape of a child, solicitation to commit rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery, solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means of a minor.   He was scheduled to appear in court on December 3, 2012 to enter a guilty plea in the case and failed to appear. Law enforcement has received information that he has committed new offenses against children since being charged in Williamson County. Washam has no other criminal history other than the charges included in this case.

 Washam is described as a white male with gray hair and blue eyes. He is 5’7” and weighs approximately 130 lbs. Washam could be in Missouri or Kansas. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wendell Lee Washam is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
