"Auburn High School Pictorial History-1922-1977," a new publication by the Auburntown Historical Society, Auburntown, is a sweetheart of a deal. Filled with hundreds of photos from the 55-year history of Auburn High School, it features
pictures of school groups, sports teams, senior classes, and snap shots.
Auburn High School graduate Betty Patrick Thomas said the vintage photos were unique. "Some of the students pictured, have kids attending Auburn School today that look just like themselves when they were school age." Ellen Smithson, Class of 1958, treasures the book because it includes photos of her brother George Oland King, who died at age 17. Ellen had previously never seen photographs of him.
Auburntown Historical Society President Bobby Dutton, stated, "The book's narrative, photographs and hard bound cover create a keepsake edition. It exemplifies the historic impact the local school had on our rural Auburntown community."
