When two men escaped from the Cannon County Jail last Wednesday, a number of law enforcement agencies rushed to the assistance of the Cannon County Sheriff's Department.
Cannon County Sheriff Darrell Young issued a statement Monday thanking all of those who assisted in the search and apprehension of the escapees.
"I am deeply appreciative of the Rutherford Co. Sheriff's Dept. for the use of their dogs and manpower, the Murfreesboro Police Dept. for their dogs and manpower, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the U.S. Marshal's Office and last but by no means least the Woodbury Police Department for their assistance," Sheriff Young said.
"Successful law enforcement is quite often a matter of teamwork, and that fact was exemplified by this event. Both I and our department are very thankful for the rapid response and dedicated work of those agencies, and their men and women, who saw the effort through to its succcessful conclusion."
Sheriff Young also expressed his thanks to Rite Aide Pharmacy, Dollar Market, 1st Stop Market, McDonald's, and Sonic for their help with food and water for the men and women involved in the manhunt.
The two men, James Hill and Aubrey Sanders, and a woman. Lisa Winslow, charged with aiding and abetting their escape after the fact, are scheduled to make a brief appearance in Cannon County General Sessions Court Tuesday to be appointed an attorney.
