Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. Deputy Lawrence Avera was dispatched to 228 Valley View Drive at around 1 a.m. on Sept. 15 to respond to a report of a vandalism to a 1996 Honda Civic.

Upon arrival he spoke with resident and car owner, Trinity Shane Ruth, who stated that between midnight and 0059 hours someone came onto his property and vandalized his car.

The vehicle was parked in the driveway close to the house and had been hit with eggs on the roof and hood and had been scratched numerous times with what appeared to be a sharp metal object along both sides of the car as well as the hood and roof.

Ruth estimated the cost of the damage to the vehicle to be around $2,000.

Ruth also advised Deputy Avera of a previous vandalism that occurred to a separate vehicle on August 25, during which the windows were broken out of the car, blood splatter was found next to the car, and there were multiple scratches and dents to the on the vehicle, as well as a stereo that had been stolen from inside the car.

During the investigation Ruth's girlfriend, Alicia Anne Perry, told Deputy Averea that her ex-boyfriend, Seth Adam Woods, of Murfreesboro, had confessed to her in person approximately two weeks ago at a birthday dinner for her at Red Lobster that he was responsible for the vandalism that occurred on Ruth's property on August 25. Perry also stated Woods had stitches and bandages on his hand at te time of their conversation.

Deputy Avera advised Ruth to speak to a warrant commissioner about the vandalism which occurred on Aug. 25, and also arranged to post an extra patrol for the Ruth residence.
