SPRINGIELD – CPA and small business owner Kerry Roberts announced today that he has filed all the necessary paperwork and is now officially a candidate for Congress in Tennessee’s 6th Congressional district.

Roberts released the following statement regarding his campaign and Bart Gordon’s retirement:

“A full campaign kick-off event will be coming after the first of the year, but in light of Bart Gordon’s retirement we felt it was necessary to announce we’re fully in this race and we’re committed to winning.

The people of Middle Tennessee need a Congressman with a positive plan to stand up for our conservative values and restore common sense and constitutional principles to Washington. That’s why I’m running for Congress.

I’m a CPA and a small business owner, but it doesn’t take an accountant to know we must drastically cut taxes, reduce spending and curb our massive debt to help our small businesses create much-needed jobs for the people of Middle Tennessee.

This is an exciting time for the people of the 6th district. We have an opportunity to move away from politics as usual and toward fresh ideas and new leadership. We are thrilled and thankful for the support we’re receiving and the news of Bart Gordon’s retirement has only added to our momentum.”
