The Friends of Edgar Evins State Park announce it is time now to reserve your seats for the 5th annual History Hayride in the park on Saturday, October 16th.

Edgar Evins State Park is located on Center Hill Lake, near Smithville and Cookeville. This event usually sells out early.

Wagon loads will leave approximately 30 minutes apart beginning at 3 p.m. People who do not like to drive after dark prefer the early departures, while there are many who relish the mysterious effect of lantern light and campfires on the scenes.

This is a wholesome entertainment suitable for families and singles, not a horror themed event. The emphasis is on historical characters and events that took place in the area.  The wagons will make about 10 stops at scenes where costumed re-enactors will tell stories from the past.

Tickets are $10 per person. Light refreshments will be served.

Phone the park office for reservations: 931-858-2446 or 1-800-250-8619
