Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney responded to an address on Orville Duke Road on Dec. 12 in reference to a report of a suicidal male by the name of Bobby Joe Cobb. Deputy Matthew Parsley also responded due to reports of the subject being in possession of a shotgun.
Upon arrival at the residence it was found to be the incorrect address and deputies were forwarded to 234 Orville Duke Road. Once there they spoke with Cobb, who stated everything was OK and that the report of him being suicidal was an unfounded statement made by his wife.
Cobb was found to be unarmed and unharmed.
However, Cannon County Dispatched informed responding officers that Cobb had active warrants for Violation of Probation and Worthless Checks. He was placed into custody and transported to the Cannon County Jail. His bond was set at $21,394. He was appointed the public defender to represent him in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Dec. 13. His next court date is Jan. 10.
