Nashville (June 21) – On Monday, State Representative Stratton Bone (D-Lebanon), announced two grants to awarded to: Arts Center of Cannon County for $32,700 and Cannon Association of Craft Artists for $8,500. Funds for Tennessee Arts Commission grants are made possible through appropriations by the Tennessee General Assembly, federal dollars from the National Endowment for the Arts, and by Tennesseans who chose to purchase certain specialty license plates for their vehicles. The Arts Center of Cannon County and Cannon Association of Craft Artists have a long track record of receiving several awards and grants through the Tennessee Arts Council. These newly award grants will go towards to operation of the arts councils in Cannon County and will allow the councils to continue its work within the community. “The people of Cannon County should be very proud of our arts councils, said State Representative Bone. They are a role model for other arts council across this state and I commend the councils for their tireless effort in the name of the arts and arts advocacy.”
