Red Cross Donor Appreciation Blood Drive May 17

Woodbury Lions Club will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Lions Memorial Building on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Each year the May blood drive is set up to honor the local residents who come out and donate the “give of life.”

The Woodbury Lions Club has a long history of hosting the Red Cross blood drives when they come to Cannon County. Having six drives a year, one every other month, so that those who want to give as often as they can have the opportunity to do so here in Cannon County.

As an additional reward, the Lions Club has one major drive to reward the donors who give of themselves.   The Lions Club drives normally start at noon and continue until 6 p.m. but the May drive extends its hours to start at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Door prizes are given to all who come to donate. Pens, pencils, hats, merchandise, meals, services, and gift certificates will be given away. Local businesses donate door prizes to honor those who come in and donate. The grand prize at the end of the drive will be a $100 VISA card.

Local businesses who have committed to supporting this event this year as of the writing of this article are:  200 Main Family Salon, A Touch of  Home, Auburntown Lions Club, Auto Zone, Boyd’s Garage, Briar Rose Flowers, Cannon Chiropractic, Cannon Courier, Cannon Market, Care All, Chilangos Restaurant, Coco Tan & Spa, Curves for Women, DJ’s Pizza & Steakhouse, DTC, Express Cash, First National Bank, FirstBank, Hardies, Hayes Bros Auto Care, Hibdon’s Body and Auto, Higgins Car Wash, Hindman’s Body Shop, Jennings Jewelers, JJJ Bar-B-Que and Family Dining, Joe’s Place, Legendary Cuts, McDonalds, Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Coop, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas, Moonlite Drive-In, NAPA, The Readyville Mill, The Old Feed Store, Off The Hanger, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Parsley’s Market & Deli, Paul Reed Furniture, Potters Ace Hardware, Quick Shop Market, Regions Bank, The Scoreboard, Smith Funeral Home, Sonic, Stones River Hospital, Subway, Tangles Hair Salon, Woodbury Auto Express, Woodbury Co-Op, and other businesses who are still being asked. 

Cannon County is known for have the best blood drive in the state because to the many regular donors who come to give, and all the local businesses who support this event.
