Students of Steven Porter's Guitar Class as CCHS held their first recital on May 18th.

The ensemble was made up of numerous guitar players, violin, keyboard, bass, and vibes. Styles covered ranged from old-time bluegrass to modern rock to heavy metal.

Many of the pieces performed were composed by students in the class. Between pieces Porter explained the various methods used by the group to compose. Some were anchored by a particular student, while many were clearly worked out as a group.

Mr. Porter has been a God sent for CCHS. Music is coming alive again in Cannon County.
Thank you Mr. Porter.
