Moon Charged With Public Intoxication At Jail

For the second time in recent weeks a local man showed up at the Cannon County Jail drunk.

Aaron Vincent Moon, 7159 Gassaway Rd., Woodbury, arrived at the jail the night of July 29 to serve a weekend sentence.

According to Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Reed Bryson, Moon was found to be highly intoxicated to the point he was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person.

When asked by officers why he was so unsteady on his feet, Moon replied, “I’m drunk.”

Moon also admitted to drinking two 40 ounce beers before reporting to the jail.

Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is Sept. 6.

On July 1 another person, Golden Robertson, was charged with public intoxication at the jail while turning himself in to serve a DUI sentence. The outcome of Robertson’s case is pending in Cannon County General Sessions Court.
