The Cannon County Lionettes are still searching for their first win in 2021 and after coming up short at Red Boiling Springs Saturday, tonight might be their best opportunity so far to put a win in the column. The Lionettes host Mt. Juliet tonight at Robert A.Harris Gymnasium.
Mt. Juliet an annual powerhouse program has fallen on some hard times since their last State tournament appearance two seasons ago. The Lady Golden Bears are just 1-15 so far this season.
Gus Davenport is closing in on his 1000th point of his career. The Junior scored 32 in the lopsided win over Red Boiling giving him 968 points. Mt Juliet is 8-13 overall and 0-2 against District 8-AA teams this season.
Tonight's ballgames will be broadcast via Facebook Live over Cannon Courier News and Events Facebook page. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m. with the live stream starting at 5:55.
The in-county grammar school games continue tonight as game number 3 of the 10 game regular season takes place.
Auburn visits Westside, Eastside travels to Short Mountain and Woodland is at Woodbury Grammar. Tipoffs for all games will take place at 6:00 tonight.
