Mr. Michael Roy Bogle, 51, of Woodbury, died Oct. 28, 2010. He was born Feb. 21, 1959 in Savannah, GA. He is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie D. Bogle; brother, Larry D. Bogle and a nephew, Michael Lynn Stone.

Survivors include his wife, Martinia Resha Bogle of Woodbury; mother, Violet E. Bogle of Woodbury; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Junior Potter of Monroe, GA; mother-in-law, Barbara Hayes of Woodbury; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Sherry Hayes of Woodbury; also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bogle was a retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief Engineer. He had 23 years service as a diesel engine mechanic with the Coast Guard.

During his career with the Coast Guard he earned numerous decorations and awards including: The Commandant's Letter of Commendation with Gold Star, CG Unit Commendation with Gold Star; CG Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon with Silver & Two Gold Stars, CG Sea Service Ribbon with Two Bronze Stars, among many others. He attended the Baptist Church. He loved cars, motorcycles and anything with an engine. He was a loving husband and had a heart of gold.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 from 10-8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at 2 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Greg Mitchell will officiate and interment will follow at Cherry Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Hayes, Cody Hayes, Larry Cason, Doug Matheny, Michael Thomas, Ricky Caldwell, Andy Jordan, Dustin Stoetzel and Jackie Dean Haley. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.smithfuneralhomewoodbury.net (615)563-5337
