A local woman pled guilty to numerous charges Tuesday in Cannon County General Sessions Court following her arrest five days earlier.
Mandi Jo Mathews had been accused on July 12 by two individuals of taking medication (Hydrocone) from a home and making threatening statements towards them. The incident occurred on July 10.
In court, Mathews pled guilty to 2 counts of phone harassment. She was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon serving 5 days in jail, equal time on probation, and paying the costs.
Mathews also pled guilty to trespassing. She was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was suspended upon equal time on probation and paying the costs.
She also pled guilty to assault in connection with the case and was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was suspended upon equal time on probation and paying the costs.
Mathews pled guilty to theft under $500. She was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was suspended upon equal time on probation, paying $35 restitution and the costs.
In an unrelated case, Mathews pled guilty to passing a worthless check. She was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon serving 5 days in jail, equal time on probation, paying $300 restitution and the costs.
Mathews will spend a total of three years on probation.
