Man Fires Shot During Domestic Violence Incident

Jimmy Wayne Chapman, 216 Greyhound Lane, Liberty, was charged with two counts of domestic assault on May 8 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Steve McMillen. Chapman allegedly pushed one of the victims out of the front door of his house, then firing a gunshot from a .22 calibre rifle at her feet, striking the floor. The other victim was in the vicinity of the bullet. Total bond was set at $16,000. Initial court date is June 7.

Other persons charged recently include:

• Buddy Allen Vanatta, 111 Auburntown Road, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license by Woodbury Police Sgt. John House following a traffic stop on West Main St. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is June 14.

• Larry Ricky Blair, Jr., 1126 Hollis Creek Rd., Woodbury, was charged with public intoxication on May 11 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire. During the investigation of an alleged DUI, Blair was found to be in the Dollar General Store while under the influence of an intoxicant. Blair admitted to taking some pain medication just a couple of hours prior to the incident. Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is June 21.

• Juana M. Rodriguez, 310 Locust St., McMinnville, was charged with driving on a suspended license on May 12 by Woodbury Patrolman Brent Brock following a traffic stop on McMinnville Hwy. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is June 21.

• Emanuel Gutierrez, III was charged with driving on a suspended license on May 8 by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown following a traffic stop on W. Main St. Initial court date is June 14.

• Elijah Lee Murphy was charged with burglary and theft of property on April 28 by Woodbury Sgt. John House. Murphy allegedly broke into the home of Wendy Mears on McFerrin St. and stole a welder belonging to Walter Bess. Initial court date is June 14.

• Dustin Shane Rublee was charged with driving on a revoked license on May 5 by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown after he was stopped on E. Main St. for erratic driving. Initial court date is June 14.
