A Cannon County man is in custody following his indictment by the Cannon County Grand Jury on Jan. 22 on multiple rape and other charges.

Anthony Adamson is in the Cannon County Jail under a one million dollar bond. The offenses are alleged to have occurred between June 2007 and April 2009.

Adamson is charged with 25 counts of rape, 20 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, 20 counts of coercion of a witness and five counts of delivery of marijuana.

Adamson was arrested this week. The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Investigator Charlie Wilder of the Cannon County Sheriff's Department.

The purported victim was 13 when the alleged offenses began.

Adamson is scheduled to appear in Cannon Court Circuit Court on Feb. 11 before Judge Don Ash to answer the charges.

In another case, Janice Adrian was indicted by the Grand Jury, also on Jan. 22, on a charge of theft. She is in the county jail under $5,000 bond.

Assistant Chief Darrell Young of the Woodbury Police Department presented the case to the Grand Jury. She is set to appear before Judge Ash on Feb. 11.

It is alleged in the indictment that Adrian "did unlawfully and knowingly obtain or exercise control over the property of The Appraisal Company and said property being good and lawful money and being the value of over $1,000 with the intent to deprive the true owner thereof, and without the owner's effective consent, in violation of T.C.A. 39-14-103."
