Lions play well in setback

BAXTER - Cannon County continued to play well down the stretch but got nothing to show for it in a tough 54-46 setback at Upperman Tuesday (Jan. 29).


Garrett McReynolds and Cory Henley scored 11 each to lead Cannon County’s balanced scoring attack. Tommy Mitchell had nine points, four assists and took two charges. Zach Higgins added six points.
The Lions (11-13, 5-5) trailed 13-9 after the first quarter but rallied in the second stanza and trailed 26-24 at halftime.


Cannon County kept it close in the second half and trailed 37-35 going into the final quarter before Upperman used a 17-11 run to seal the win.


The Lions shot 40 percent and had six 3-pointers.
