Lionettes Run Record To 11-0

SPARTA — Three players scored in double figures Monday as the Cannon County Lionettes remained perfect on the season.

Taylor King led the way with 20 points, Emily Sissom added 17 and Lauren Ruehlen hit for 12 as the Lionettes disposed of Johnson City Science Hill, 66-56, in the first round of the Sonic Shootout at White County High School.

Cannon County bolted out to a 22-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The Lionettes led 36-19 at the half and still lead 44-37 going into the fourth quarter despite being outscored 18-8 in the third. Cannon County outscored the Lady Hilltoppers 22-19 in the final period.

The Lionettes will resume tournament action in Sparta Tuesday at 3 p.m. They enter the contest with an 11-0 record.
