Is your library card missing? Hiding out in the pocket of a pair of old jeans? Was it eaten by Rover? Abducted by aliens? NEVER FEAR. Cannon County Library System can help.

From now through Valentine’s Day, 2010, you can get a brand new replacement library card free of charge. That’s right. Free. The Cannon County Library Board has temporarily waived the $2.00 fee to replace a lost library card.

Adams Memorial Library and Auburntown Branch Library are trying to reach a lofty goal. They want EVERYONE over the age of 4 in the county to have their own library card.

Librarian Rita Allen said, “Come in to either library with an i.d. or piece of mail showing your current address and get your first library card from us — or get a replacement for your lost card. It’s as simple as that. Please encourage everyone you know to get their own library card.”

There is also a small gift for the first 1000 new card holders and for regular library patrons who read this news release and ask for the gift.

Don’t forget you can still find fantastic bargain stocking stuffers at Adams Memorial Library! Used hardback books for $1.00 and paperbacks for only .25 each! Happy Holidays from your Cannon County Library System!
