Lawsuit against UCDD reaches settlement

Two former employees of the Upper Cumberland Development District have settled their lawsuit against the agency and regained their jobs.

Kathy and Ashley Pealer got their jobs back as part of the settlement and UCDD agreed to pay more than $13,000 in back pay and $8,000 in attorney fees. Kathy Pealer earned $6,600 in back pay, and Ashley Pealer received $7,200, according to the settlement.

Cannon County Executive Mike Gannon was named in the lawsuit based on his position of chairman on the UCDD Board.

Gannon had served as chairman for one month when the lawsuit was filed by the Pealers.

The release states, Pealer released UCDD and all of its past, present, and future officers, employees, agents, divisions, affiliates, successors, assigns, including but not limited to Randy Williams and Mike Gannon from any and all claims.
