Joann Tritch Pitcock of Woodbury, Tennessee, passed away on May 11, 2023. She was just shy of her her 85th birthday. Joann was born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 16, 1938, to parents George Tritch and Ellen Michaelson Tritch and was the oldest of two children. She is proceeded in death by her parents and step-father, Toivo Maenpaa. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Forrest Pitcock; sister, Elaine Root; children Sheila (Tom) Norton; Scott (Sibyl) Pitcock; and Kathy (Robby) McBrayer; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Pamela (Doug) Sheehan; one step-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren.

Joann dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and loyal friend to many. She took great joy in raising her children, spoiling her grandchildren, enjoying her nephews and niece, honoring her parents, and serving in positions that supported her church and Christian faith. As her children grew older she transitioned from full-time homemaker to receptionist/secretary roles at her home church where she eventually served as the Business Manager. From there she took her skills and talents to Midwestern Baptist College and oversaw their business office operations. All the while, she served in her church on a volunteer basis, teaching Sunday School and participating in neighborhood visitation activities.

Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Woodbury, TN, where they resided for over 25 years, building their dream home on a hilltop overlooking the beauty of the Smokey Mountain region. This was Joann's happy place! She took great pride in the home's interior decor and garden areas. Joann enjoyed baking and was an exceptional cake and cookie decorator, sharing her beautiful creations with family and friends. She loved antiques, incorporating them into her home and then also having her own "booth" at the nearby antique mall. She loved to sell her curated treasures while spending time with friends and customers. All the while, Joann continued to serve others through participation at her new home church, teaching in children's ministry and sharing the gospel with others. Joann read her Bible consistently, was the mightiest of prayer warriors, and often mentioned her love for Jesus. She is now in His presence!

The family would like to thank her sweet caregivers at Harmony at Victory Station (Murfreesboro, TN) for their compassion and kindness.
